What is especially interesting here is that ED’s especially are commonly discussed and portrayed as a “white” issue, with PoC sufferers largely ignored or simply swept aside.  Look at an LIfetime movie dealing with an ED and I would bet money it’s focused on a waifish white girl.  In keeping with this white-washed view, tumblr staff decides that pro-ana/pro-mia/ED etc/self-harm blogs are a danger and something they “disagree with”.  Now, OK, I would agree that they are harmful, and something I personally still find myself triggered by when I do somehow come across something from one, but I really have to wonder how much tumblr staff would care if ED’s were discussed as a primarily Black or Latin@ issue.  Because again, pro self-harm blogs are harmful, but no more or less so than the racist, homophobic, transphobic or ableist blogs and blog titles many have come across, and yet people have still had to fight tooth and nail to get a staff member to do something.  So what gives?
